At the Turkey Artificial Intelligence Summit, where Turkey's future vision in the field of artificial intelligence is shaped, Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) was also represented. The summit, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey and attended by our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, introduced the Turkey Artificial Intelligence Action Plan covering the period of 2026-2030 to the public.
The action plan prepared with the approach of “Notice, Benefit, Produce and Manage” aims to position Turkey among the countries that not only use but also develop and manage artificial intelligence technologies. The plan, which outlines a roadmap on many topics from human resource development to data ecosystems, from technology infrastructures to domestic production processes, was among the most important agenda items of the summit.
The program, which started with the opening speech of Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, emphasized that artificial intelligence is not just a technological issue; it should be evaluated together with areas such as education, entrepreneurship, data management, and governance. The summit also attracted great interest with the speech delivered by Selçuk Bayraktar and panels attended by experts in the field.
At the summit, which was attended by academics, entrepreneurs, technopark managers, students, and representatives of the technology ecosystem from all over Turkey, goals such as increasing artificial intelligence literacy, training qualified human resources, establishing strong technology infrastructures, and supporting artificial intelligence initiatives came to the forefront.
Representing MAKÜ at the summit, MAKÜ-BAKA Technopolis General Manager Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seher Yastıoğlu and MAKÜ National Technology Workshop Coordinator Yasin Öğüt participated. University students also participated in the event, representing MAKÜ.
